3, Rue de la Manutention, 75016 Paris
September 13 to October 21, 2012

For the past four years, Galerie Eva Presenhuber has been showing several artistic solo positions from its program in the Paris loft during FIAC in October.

For this year's edition Galerie Eva Presenhuber has decided to realize an extended exhibition focusing more on sculptural aspects and the specific architectural situation. The Paris loft with its high ceilings - formerly used as a car garage - has been carefully redefined during the 1980's under the general management of italian architect Paolo Piva. The pure post modernistic setting with it's highly artificial use of materialistic aesthetics such as stucco lustro for the walls, glass bricks for mainly all outer walls, marble columns breaking through a ceiling without supporting the same and a rolling hand rail leading to the open upper floor served as an interesting starting point for this exhibition project.

The show which will feature works of Martin Boyce, Valentin Carron, Matias Faldbakken, Peter Fischli David Weiss, Mark Handforth, Karen Kilimnik, Andrew Lord, Ugo Rondinone, Josh Smith, Oscar Tuazon and Franz West will be arranged by Valentin Carron.
These works which have never been exhibited before respond to the architecture of the loft whilst creating a dialogue where works and rooms respond to each other. Based on the idea of sculpture, some of the works use the walls to recline or to be hung such as with Mark Handforth. Furthermore, sculptures by the duo Fischli & Weiss or by Franz West with a trio of chairs, create their own space within the interior of the architecture.
