SAM FALLS
Spring to Fall (2023-2024)
Booth U25
The painting Spring to Fall – which measures 45.7 meters in length – evolved over several seasons, outdoors. Falls, who works in the Hudson Valley, spread the canvas across a field, laying plants from the early fall and late summer on top. He then sprinkled a water-reactive pigment across the plants which left their silhouettes visible, and repeated the process again in the spring. The final image constitutes a searing, intellectual consideration of the earth’s clock as well as nature’s priceless importance. Co-presented with Galleria Franco Noero and 303 Gallery.
